Recipe Croque Monsieur

INGREDIENTS

  • 8 slices of white bread, approx. 1 cm thick
  • 8 tablespoons of Martha Laue’s Original Spice Ketchup from HELA
  • 4 slices of Gruyère cheese
  • 2 tomatoes
  • 4 slices of ham
  • 2 tablespoons of chives

THAT'S HOW IT IS DONE

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C top/bottom heat.
  2. Toast 8 slices of bread and spread each with a tablespoon of Hela Ketchup. Place a slice of Gruyère on each of 4 slices and top with thin slices of tomato. On the other 4 slices of bread, place the ham. Fold one cheese slice and one ham slice together and bake in the oven for about 15 minutes.
  3. For a rustic look, the finished breads can then be briefly browned on both sides in a fluted pan that is already hot and brushed with a little butter.
  4. Serve with freshly cut chives and Martha Laue’s Original Spice Ketchup from HELA.
